Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS applications using Swift, translating user and business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participating in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decision-making to ensure high standards of software engineering.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and delivery processes by developing automated tests, investigating and resolving technical issues, and maintaining development standards.
  • Good understanding of the iOS SDK and Apple development ecosystem
  • Experience developing applications using modern iOS development patterns and practices
  • Strong commercial experience developing applications for iOS
  • Understanding of software engineering principles including clean code, modularity, maintainability and version control

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Swift
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services

Experience using Git and modern software development workflows

  • Experience with automated testing, including unit and UI testing
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving application defects and performance issues
  • Experience with Objective-C and maintaining or modernising existing Objective-C codebases
  • Experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit
  • Experience with asynchronous programming and concurrency in Swift
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes
  • Knowledge of iOS application architecture and design patterns

Experience working with cloud-based services and RESTful APIs

  • Familiarity with mobile application security and data protection principles
  • Experience developing accessible applications in line with recognised accessibility standards

Preferred

  • Experience working with analytics, monitoring and application performance tools
