We are looking for a hands-on Principal or Senior Engineer to architect, design and build large-scale, cloud-native, AI-powered platforms. This is a pure Individual Contributor (IC) role with a strong emphasis on coding, architecture, system design, and solving complex engineering problems. The ideal candidate should spend the majority of their time writing production-quality code, reviewing designs, driving engineering excellence, and mentoring through technical leadership rather than people management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimize high-performance backend systems using Java and Python.
• Lead architecture and implementation of scalable, resilient, distributed platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable, production-grade code with exceptionally high engineering standards.
• Drive code reviews, design reviews, performance tuning and technical mentoring.
• Build and operate cloud-native applications on Azure AKS and AWS EKS.
• Evaluate and adopt modern AI, cloud and platform technologies.

• Programming: Java, Python, Data Structures & Algorithms, Concurrency & Multithreading, JVM Performance Tuning
• Cloud & DevOps: Azure (AKS), AWS (EKS), Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Helm, Terraform
• API & Platform Engineering: REST, gRPC, API Gateway (Kong/NGINX/APIM), Rate Limiting, OAuth2/JWT, Load Balancing, Service Discovery
• Observability: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Distributed Tracing, Logging, Monitoring & Alerting
• Databases: Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MapDB

Caching: Redis, Hazelcast

• Messaging: Apache Kafka, Event-Driven Architecture, Kafka Performance Tuning
• Big Data: Apache Spark, Hive, Hadoop MapReduce, Avro, Parquet, Protobuf
• Architecture: Distributed Systems, CAP Theorem, Microservices, System Design, Design Patterns, SOLID Principles, High Availability, Scalability, Fault Tolerance, Performance Optimization
• Operating Systems & Networking: Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS/SSL, NGINX
• AI Engineering: Gemini APIs, OpenAI GPT Models, RAG, MCP (Model Context Protocol), AI Agents, Cursor, Kiro, GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding tools
• 8–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong Individual Contributor (IC) mindset with a passion for coding and solving complex problems.
• Exceptional coding standards, architectural thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ownership, excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical direction.
• Strong team player, self-driven, proactive, go-getter with a passion for continuous learning and engineering excellence.
