Join our team as a Hardware Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 internship. In this hands-on role, you will drive progress toward the initial production and ramp-up of our next generation vehicles. You will own and deliver a production subsystem or process from concept through implementation, working on projects such as end-of-line testing for pneumatic and brake systems, improved powertrain installation tooling, and more.
Responsibilities
- The internship will include onboarding, vehicle familiarization, project assignments, and a final presentation of outcomes.
- Candidates should be self-motivated problem solvers with experience in design reviews, prototyping, and hardware development cycles.
- Self-motivated problem solver who takes personal ownership of challenges and drives them to completion
Requirements
- Experience with design reviews, prototyping, and iterative hardware development cycles
- Comfortable applying first-principles thinking to find creative solutions beyond your usual scope
- EE candidates: CAD proficiency to enable cross-functional contributions
- ME candidates: Experience with electronics, coding, or PCBA design
- Leadership experience on a hands-on engineering team that solves real-world problems while balancing competing priorities (e.g., FSAE, solar car, Design Build Fly, Baja SAE, or similar)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present design work and field test results
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field (rising junior, senior, or graduate student)
