Senior Backend Engineer (Platform Enablement)

Join GitLab as a Senior Backend Engineer in the Performance Enablement team. In this role, you will build platforms, tooling, guidance, and AI-assisted workflows to help engineering teams identify performance risks during development. You will support modular feature teams, build reusable performance tooling, improve performance results and visibility, and establish documentation and guidance for self-service adoption. This is a backend and platform engineering role with opportunities for growth and influence.

Responsibilities

• Construire des plateformes, des outils, des conseils et des flux de travail assistés par l'intelligence artificielle qui aident les équipes à identifier les risques de performance.

Requirements

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud infrastructure

Experience building internal platforms or developer-facing tooling

• Communicate clearly in writing and influence teams without direct authority
• Experience building durable solutions that support broad adoption using systems thinking
• Experience using development practices that apply artificial intelligence across the software lifecycle

Preferred

• Experience building backend or platform software
• Experience with software performance, such as performance analysis, optimization, benchmarking, or leading performance-related improvements
