We are looking for an Art Teacher for an international bilingual school in Xiamen, teaching kindergarten, primary and middle school students. This position is available from February 2027

Responsibilities

  • Teach art to kindergarten, primary and middle school students, adapting lessons to different ages and abilities
  • Plan engaging lessons that develop creativity, artistic expression and practical skills
  • Introduce students to a range of artistic techniques and materials, including drawing, painting and sculpture
  • Develop students’ understanding of art through exploring artists, cultures and visual traditions

Organize displays and exhibitions to celebrate students’ artwork

  • Design assessments, monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school activities
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers
  • Create a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages creative exploration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education or a related field, with a background in fine arts required
  • Valid teaching certification or license
  • At least two years of classroom teaching experience, including prior teaching experience in China
  • Currently residing in China

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the IB curriculum is advantageous

Pay

Salary: unknown currency 264,000–300,000

Monthly salary of RMB 22,000–25,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
