Staff Electrical Engineer (Medium Voltage)

Join our team as a Staff Electrical Engineer specializing in medium voltage systems for large-scale AI data centers.

You will also evaluate designs for capacity, reliability, maintainability, cost, and schedule, and perform or oversee various electrical studies. Additionally, you will define requirements for key electrical equipment, work with various stakeholders, and support equipment selection and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• You will own electrical design standards, lead design from utility interconnection to campus distribution, and develop and review key technical documents.
• Travel to project sites and partner facilities may be required.
• Own electrical design standards and reference architectures for medium-voltage systems supporting large-scale AI data centers.
• Lead design from utility interconnection through campus distribution and medium-voltage-to-low-voltage transformation.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, protection schemes, sequences of operation, and basis-of-design documents.
• Understand medium-voltage distribution, transformers, switchgear, generators, grounding, protection, and control systems
• Can balance reliability, capacity, maintainability, constructability, cost, and delivery schedule

Requirements

• Understand applicable electrical and safety requirements, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, and utility standards
• Can develop and review single-line diagrams, technical specifications, relay philosophies, and electrical study reports
• Communicate clearly across engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and executive stakeholders
• Have experience designing medium-voltage electrical systems for data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities, or large industrial campuses
• Have experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or comparable electrical analysis software
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with utility interconnection, large campus substations, or behind-the-meter generation
• Experience designing hyperscale, colocation, HPC, or AI data center campuses
• Experience supporting factory acceptance testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, or failure investigations
• Experience with PSCAD, other EMT simulation tools or System Stability Analysis
• Professional Engineer licensure or progress toward licensure

Preferred

• Experience with protective-relay settings, generator paralleling, microgrids, or medium-voltage automation
