Software Engineering Manager (Hardware Accelerate)

WHOOP, a leading performance optimization company, as an Engineering Manager. In this role, you will lead a team within the Hardware Accelerate team, focusing on building the software platform that enhances hardware and embedded development. You will have both technical and people management responsibilities, working closely with embedded engineering teams and internal stakeholders to refine requirements and scope scalable solutions. You will also lead and mentor a team of hardware-oriented software engineers, promoting a positive, high-performance culture grounded in innovation, teamwork, psychological safety, and continuous learning.

Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for building platforms that integrate with embedded and hardware systems.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy, architecture, and design for features that support hardware development-focused initiatives.
• Provide regular mentorship, feedback, and coaching to team members to support their professional development and growth.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to align technical and business priorities
• Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver complex, cross-functional projects
• Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strong sense of ownership
• Experience as a hands-on software developer combined with a proven track record in engineering management
• Strong technical skills in software development, testing, and deployment
• Experience leading software teams working with hardware and embedded systems

Preferred

• Experience or background in or knowledge of electrical and embedded systems

Pay

USD 150,000 - 215,000
