Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services.
• Contribute to microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts and development teams on complex cross-project initiatives.
• Participate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies.
• Identify opportunities for technical improvements and software optimization.
• Take ownership of software quality through unit testing, integration testing and code reviews.
• Ensure the delivery of well-designed, maintainable, testable and efficient code.
• Support and coach junior developers when needed.
• Contribute to development standards, best practices and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Java Development, with expertise in backend and/or full stack application development.
• Proven experience designing, developing and maintaining enterprise-scale software solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• & Experience Java (Java 8/11/17+) Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data & Spring Security REST APIs, SOAP, XML & JSON Integrations Microservices & Event-Driven Architectures Hibernate & JPA Maven & Gradle Azure and/or AWS Enterprise Application Servers (JBoss, WildFly, WebSphere, Oracle Middleware) Tomcat and similar runtimes CI/CD & DevOps Practices Automated Testing & Software Quality Agile & Scrum Methodologies AI-Assisted Development (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot) Fluent English Professional working proficiency in Dutch and/or French
