- Who are we hiring?
The Procurement Organization at Madison Square Garden Entertainment is seeking a Senior Program Manager, a high-impact operator who will serve as the connective tissue between Procurement strategy and enterprise execution. Reporting directly to the SVP Procurement, this role is designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of program leadership, operational excellence, and cross-functional coordination.
This is not a traditional program management role. This Senior Program Manager will function as a strategic right hand to the SVP, driving the rhythm of the Procurement function, ensuring leadership priorities translate into measurable outcomes, and serving as a force multiplier across Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere.
The ideal candidate brings a seat-at-the-table mindset, someone who understands that Procurement is a competitive advantage and operates with the ownership, precision, and executive presence required to keep a high-performing function running at the highest level.
What will you do?
Program & Project Management - 30%
Own and drive the end-to-end program management lifecycle for strategic Procurement initiatives, ensuring projects move from concept through execution with clear milestones, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
Build and maintain integrated project plans that align Procurement workstreams with broader enterprise priorities across Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere.
Develop and manage dashboards, status reports, and executive-ready updates that provide real-time visibility into initiative progress, risks, and resource needs, enabling the SVP Procurement to make informed, timely decisions.
Identify and proactively mitigate risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks across concurrent initiatives, ensuring the Procurement organization consistently delivers on time and with impact.
Establish and enforce program governance standards, including templates, workflows, and documentation protocols that bring rigor and repeatability to how the Procurement function plans and executes.
Procurement Leadership & Executive Calendar Management - 20%
Serve as the operational backbone of the SVP Procurement's office, managing the cadence of leadership activities including executive meetings, stakeholder engagements, and strategic planning sessions.
Prepare and curate executive-level briefing materials, agendas, and pre-reads that ensure the SVP is positioned to lead every interaction with clarity, context, and strategic framing.
Manage and prioritize the SVP's calendar with a strategic lens, not simply scheduling, but ensuring time allocation reflects the highest-impact priorities of the Procurement organization.
Anticipate leadership needs and proactively surface information, decisions, and follow-ups required to keep the function moving forward without gaps or delays.
Draft and refine executive communications, presentations, and correspondence on behalf of the SVP, maintaining a consistent tone of strategic authority and professionalism.
Leadership Governance & Execution - 20%
Drive the governance rhythm of the Procurement organization, including leadership meetings, quarterly business reviews, and strategic planning cycles, ensuring each is purposeful, well-structured, and outcome oriented.
Track and manage the SVP's strategic commitments, action items, and deliverables, serving as the accountability mechanism that ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Design and implement governance frameworks that bring structure and discipline to how the Procurement leadership team operates, makes decisions, and reports progress.
Coordinate cross-team leadership activities, including talent reviews, budget cycles, and organizational planning, ensuring alignment and seamless execution across the Procurement function.
Facilitate post-mortems and lessons-learned sessions following major initiatives, embedding continuous improvement into the operating DNA of the team.
Cross-Functional Business Coordination & Process Improvement - 15%
Serve as a key liaison between the Procurement organization and cross-functional partners including Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, and business unit leaders across Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere, ensuring alignment, transparency, and shared accountability.
Identify and champion process improvement opportunities that eliminate friction, reduce cycle times, and elevate the Procurement function's ability to deliver value at speed.
Map, document, and optimize end-to-end Procurement workflows, bringing clarity and standardization to processes that span multiple teams and stakeholders.
Lead change management efforts associated with new tools, processes, or operating model enhancements, ensuring adoption and sustained impact across the organization.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, positioning the Procurement organization as a trusted, proactive, and solutions-oriented function.
Enterprise Stakeholder & Portfolio Company Alignment - 10%
Ensure Procurement strategies and initiatives are aligned across the full portfolio (Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere), identifying opportunities for synergy, shared leverage, and enterprise-wide value creation.
Support the SVP in managing stakeholder relationships at the senior and executive level, preparing materials, talking points, and follow-up actions that strengthen procurement's strategic positioning.
Monitor and synthesize stakeholder feedback, priorities, and emerging needs, translating them into actionable insights that inform the Procurement organization's roadmap and resource allocation.
Coordinate portfolio-wide Procurement communications and updates, ensuring consistent messaging and visibility into the function's impact across the family of companies.
Knowledge Management & Institutional Continuity - 5%
Build and maintain a centralized knowledge repository for the Procurement organization, including playbooks, process documentation, templates, and institutional knowledge, ensuring continuity and scalability.
Capture and codify best practices, lessons learned, and decision rationale from key initiatives, creating a living body of knowledge that accelerates future execution.
Ensure seamless onboarding and knowledge transfer for new team members and stakeholders, preserving institutional memory and reducing ramp-up time.
Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive experience in program management, project management, procurement operations, or a related strategic operations function, preferably within a complex, multi-business-unit environment.
Demonstrated experience supporting senior or executive-level leaders, with a track record of managing leadership cadence, governance, and executive communications.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities, delivering results with precision and accountability.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft executive-level materials, presentations, and correspondence.
Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or equivalent), as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, and business leadership in a matrixed or multi-entity organization.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification.
Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain environments, with an understanding of category management, vendor lifecycle, and procurement technology platforms.
Experience in entertainment, media, sports, or live events industries.
Familiarity with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, or similar platforms.
Experience building or scaling a program management function within a procurement or shared services organization.
