Senior Software Engineer II Research & Development

Opening available for Senior Software Engineer II – R&D at Cotiviti, Inc. in South Jordan, UT: Responsibilities Lead the development and improvement of high-quality software modules for the Cotiviti product suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform full stack development for applications used by external and internal customers.
• Work with Product owner(s) and other team members to design and develop software using Scrum methodology.
• Represent the team in production releases.
• Support production issues helping to quickly triage and resolve issues.
• Analyze and resolve complex software related issues including identification of root causes originating from internal or external customers.
• Champion comprehensive documentation of the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications prior to production roll out.
• Join client calls as needed to provide support and answer any technical questions.
• Design and implement solutions that significantly improve performance / availability.
• Proactively communicate technical and operational issues to both engineering and business leadership in a timely manner, providing clear recommendations.
• Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems, while also evaluating and recommending new standards for improved practices.
• Explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, recommending those that improve efficiency and results for integration into the Cotiviti product suite.
• Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
• Participate in peer reviews.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, plus
• Five (5) years of experience hands-on development experience using
• Java 8 and higher, leveraging lambdas, streams, and modern concurrency features.
• Five (5) years of experience building full stack applications with Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs; Five (5) years of experience designing scalable, high availability services using Vert.x; Five (5) years of experience deploying and supporting applications on cloud and container platforms such as AWS, OCI, Kubernetes, and OpenShift; Five (5) years of experience working with relational (Oracle) and NoSQL databases in enterprise environments; (Any experience) supporting and maintaining mission critical enterprise applications in production; (Any experience) build, version control, and CI/CD tools, including
• Maven, Git, and Jenkins; (Any experience) working in Agile/Scrum development environments; (Any experience ) working with data structures, algorithms, and object oriented design patterns.
• Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

Pay

• Base compensation ranges from at least $153,192.
• Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
