We are looking for an experienced **Senior Engineer – Platform Engineering (GCP)** to take ownership of developing, maintaining, and enhancing cloud management platform modules. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, Golang, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, serverless development, and event-driven architecture.

This role involves designing scalable and reliable cloud-native applications, building advanced platform capabilities, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SaaS solutions.

## Requirements

## Key Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of developing, maintaining, and enhancing specific modules of the cloud management platform, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Design and implement serverless applications and event-driven systems that integrate seamlessly with GCP and AWS services.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to conceptualise, design, and implement advanced platform features aligned with business objectives.
  • Apply expertise in cloud architecture and software development to provide technical guidance and engineering best practices.
  • Research emerging cloud technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into platform development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing advanced support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve platform performance, architecture, reliability, and operational efficiency.

## Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in serverless application development and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience developing and delivering high-quality SaaS platforms using GCP and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectural best practices.
  • Hands-on expertise with GCP services, including:
  • Cloud Functions
  • Cloud Run
  • Cloud SQL
  • Firestore
  • Pub/Sub
  • API Gateway
  • Experience with AWS services, including:
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon RDS
  • DynamoDB
  • API Gateway
  • Strong programming knowledge of Python and Golang.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git and source control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to optimise complex systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.

## Experience Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in platform or application development, with a strong focus on Python, Golang, GCP, and AWS.
  • 1+ year of experience developing applications using serverless architecture.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Microservices Architecture in live projects.
  • 1+ year of experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
  • 1+ year of experience implementing Event-Driven Architecture in real-world applications.
  • 1+ year of experience integrating, consuming, and maintaining GCP and AWS services.
  • 1+ year of experience working with Google Cloud Client Libraries and AWS Boto3 SDK using Python.
