Cyber Security Engineer

Summary We are seeking a Security Engineer to protect our systems, networks, and data while supporting the security of our software products.

Responsibilities

• This person will assess vulnerabilities, implement security controls, respond to incidents, and collaborate with software teams to integrate security throughout development.
• The role also requires the ability to prepare cybersecurity documentation and support submissions to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), as applicable.
• Overview A Security Engineer designs and implements security measures to protect digital systems, networks, and data from threats and vulnerabilities.
• They are responsible for maintaining the security posture of an organization's technical infrastructure and ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Design, implement, and monitor security systems to protect company networks, systems, and data
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security risks

Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards

• Respond to security incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Configure and maintain security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, etc.) Research and evaluate new security technologies and countermeasures
• Perform regular security audits and provide recommendations for improvements
• Collaborate with software teams to ensure security is integrated across all systems
• Prepare and support cybersecurity documentation and submissions to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), as applicable
• Stay current with emerging threats and security trends

Requirements

• Qualifications 3+ years of experience in IT security or a related field
• Strong knowledge of network security, authentication, security protocols, and cryptography
• Experience with security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners)
• Understanding of operating systems and network architecture Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• (Python, PowerShell, Bash) Background in incident response or security operations

Preferred

• Qualifications Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security
