Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test backend services and APIs in Java or Python, and own a scoped project end to end.
  • Work with data pipelines that process satellite, sensor, and operational data at scale, and write clean, tested, well-documented code.
  • Debug issues across services, learn how production systems behave under real load, and partner with engineers across teams.

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
  • Solid programming skills in Java or Python, and curiosity about other languages
  • You learn quickly, ask good questions, and use AI tools well

  • Exposure to REST APIs, SQL or NoSQL databases, or cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Interest in geospatial data, climate, energy, or infrastructure

Preferred

  • Experience with Git, unit testing, and CI workflows
  • Open-source contributions, hackathon projects, or a public GitHub you're proud of
