Join our team as a Principal Full-Stack Developer in the Platform & Infrastructure division. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction for shared services and components, improving the speed, safety, and reliability of our software development process, and leading the design and delivery of large projects. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineering leadership, and other engineers to shape your team's roadmap and influence adjacent teams.

Responsibilities

  • You will also mentor senior and staff engineers and raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams.
  • Set the technical direction for shared services and components, design APIs, tools, and design system components that other engineers want to use.
  • Lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end to end, from planning through production, and partner directly with Product Managers and Engineering leadership.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers, set the standard for code review, and raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products, including a track record of leading technical work at a scope beyond a single team
  • Experience designing shared systems that held up at scale, and the judgment to know when not to build something
  • Comfort making progress on a problem before the spec is fully settled, adjusting as you learn more
  • A track record of writing maintainable, testable code you’re comfortable handing off to someone else
  • Strong written and verbal communication: you can explain a technical tradeoff to a designer, a support lead, or an executive as easily as to another developer
  • Day-to-day use of AI tools in your development workflow, not just occasional experimentation
  • Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development
  • Nice to have: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience. For this area, we also value: Experience with search technology, authentication and identity, design systems or component libraries, developer tooling or IDE extensions, CI/CD, observability, or compliance programs such as FedRAMP or SOC 2
  • Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
