Join our team as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Search & Allocation) and lead the development of an automated matching engine for our repair job platform. You'll set the technical vision, own the architecture, and build the dispatch flow. With a competitive salary, flexible office hours, and a central location in Amsterdam, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our business.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical vision and own the architecture for search, matching, and allocation, ensuring the system is scalable and maintainable.
  • Lead the development of the dispatch flow, steering, tendering, and a hybrid cascade with timers, retries, and escalation.
  • Make build versus buy calls and decide where AI adds value, ensuring the engine is built to meet the needs of the business.
  • Deep experience with event-driven, long-running workflows: state machines, idempotency, retries, timeouts, at-least-once processing, outbox or saga patterns. Temporal, Cadence or Camunda is a strong plus
  • Experience with a two-sided marketplace where suppliers have limited capacity, like delivery, ride-hailing, freight or repair networks. You know how allocation choices affect supplier engagement

Requirements

  • 8+ years of engineering experience at Staff, Principal or Lead level, and writing production code in the last 3 years
  • You've been the lead technical voice next to Product and Data, setting direction and making build versus buy calls
  • You make good decisions with limited data: cold start, calibration, experimentation or bandits. Our markets have hundreds of shops each, not millions of listings
  • You've replaced a live system while it kept running, using shadow mode or gradual cutover, without losing performance
  • You've built the first version of a matching, allocation, dispatch or assignment engine yourself, not just tuned an existing one
  • Fluent English; Dutch is a plus
  • Experience in mobility, automotive or insurance

Preferred

  • Tendering, RFQ or auction mechanics
