Staff Software Engineer (Android Design System)

Join Reddit's Design System Team as a Staff Software Engineer (Android Design System). In this role, you will help evolve Reddit's cross-platform design system and UI architecture, build reusable components, improve platform capabilities, and establish frontend patterns. You will collaborate with product teams, designers, and engineers to ensure the design system effectively supports real product needs. Additionally, you will improve performance at scale, advance accessibility across the platform, and strengthen developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Strong experience with modern Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with expertise in UI architecture, scalable component design, and performance optimization using tools such as Instruments

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of leading cross-functional projects and delivering solutions with broad product impact
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices and an interest in building components, tooling, or documentation that help teams ship accessible experiences by default
