Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all program participants

Follow the YUSA Swim Lesson curriculum

• Recognize and correct improper strokes or skills using positive feedback
• Communicate effectively with students and families in a patient, friendly manner
• Show you are a positive role model
• Must have ability to observe participant activities adequately, to enforce safety regulations and to apply appropriate policies and procedures
• Child Protection Commitment
• The YMCA requires all staff to share responsibility for preventing child abuse by upholding professional boundaries, completing mandatory Praesidium training, and reporting concerns. All candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including criminal and sex offender checks.

Requirements

• How do I qualify?
• Must be 16 or older
• No certification necessary! We will pay to certify you within 6 months of hire!
• Must be comfortable and confident in the water
• Must have visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in emergency situations

Pay

$18.25 - $20.50 Hourly
