Lead Data Engineer

Join our team as a Lead Data Engineer, where you will own parts of our data pipeline and drive improvements to achieve our technical and business goals. You will build supporting services for our pipeline, integrate our data collection platform with our BI tools, and work closely with the DevOps team, analytics engineers, and stakeholders across the studio business group. Your focus will be on improving data quality, lineage, and observability, as well as supporting our existing tooling and sharing your technical expertise with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and improvement of data pipelines, ensuring they meet technical and business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data collection platforms and BI tools, enabling self-service for studios.
• Act as a technical expert, sharing knowledge with colleagues and taking responsibility for data quality and remediation.
• You enjoy solving data problems, and can take responsibility for quality, investigations and remediation

Requirements

• You have experience building and owning Data Pipelines for high-throughput streaming and batch data
• Experience with cloud data services. We use AWS data and analytics services, such as Amazon S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Data Firehose, Athena and AWS Glue
• You are experienced in building robust, scalable, and resilient services
• You can demonstrate measurable impact that you have made in your current and previous roles
• You are adept at writing code in Go or write Python with a willingness to learn Go
• Has made use of AI during the development cycle, including use of Claude Code, Codex or other harnesses
• Experience with near real-time data processing, querying and visualisation
• Experience with Omni Analytics, or a similar BI tool (Looker, Tableau etc)
