Benefits
- Leaving care at 18 often means facing rent, jobs, bills and loneliness all at once.
- Chimo's new Youth in Transition (YIT) Program is a place young adults aged 18 to 24 can come for the skills, information and people that make it easier.
- We're looking for Program Facilitators to make it a place they want to come back to.
- Think of the program as a weekly menu of drop-in sessions: a hands-on housing application walkthrough, an honest conversation about substance use and harm reduction, a workshop on healthy relationships and boundaries, practice job interviews, a tax clinic, a ribbon skirt circle.
- There's food at every session and a help desk six days a week.
- What you'll do Plan and lead group sessions young adults actually want to come to Welcome people at the door, share food, and check in Staff the help desk: forms, phone calls, applications, next steps Become the team's Champion in one area: housing, employment and education, financial literacy, health and wellness, or culture and identity What you bring A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related human services field At least a year of leading groups, workshops or programs with youth or young adults Warmth, steadiness, and a sense of humour Lived experience of care or of the transition to adulthood?
