Senior Software Development Engineer

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll help expand the core capabilities of Pipedream Connect and its growing catalog of connectors. You'll work across a diverse and modern technology stack and have the chance to continuously learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of Code Testing methodologies, such as unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing, with the ability to use testing tools and frameworks to ensure software quality before deployment

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Demonstrable experience with key-value data stores (e.g., Redis, Valkey)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of experience developing REST/GraphQL APIs with a common web application framework (e.g., Rails, Node.js/Express)
• 8+ years experience in software development engineering, architecting, building, and scaling robust and efficient software systems

Demonstrable experience with techniques for scaling high-volume APIs

• Strong ability in Algorithmic Thinking, with the ability to design and apply step-by-step approaches to solve complex problems, optimize processes, and build efficient software
• Effective team collaborator who communicates well, contributes to a positive and inclusive team environment, and works cooperatively with others toward shared goals
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles like abstraction, inheritance and polymorphism, and their application in designing scalable software architectures
• Solid understanding of Software Development principles and strong proficiency in designing, programming, documenting, testing, and maintaining applications and software components
• Skilled in technical writing and documentation, with the ability to create clear, structured, and comprehensive documents that convey complex technical information to a variety of audiences
• A genuine passion for learning and intellectual curiosity — you enjoy picking up new technologies and diving into unfamiliar problem spaces

Preferred

• Experience building distributed applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
