Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and retain a world-class storage engineering team, developing the next generation of technical leaders within it.
- Drive operational excellence by defining and holding the bar on reliability, on-call practices, and incident response for storage systems.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward learning: you go deep on tech stacks that are new to you and bring others along
- Strong operational instincts — you raise the bar on reliability and execution, not just vision
Requirements
- A track record of building reliable, high-availability systems at significant scale (millions of users, petabyte-scale data, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and earn trust across engineering, product, and leadership
- 10+ years of experience in storage, infrastructure, or distributed systems roles, including hands-on experience building and operating custom database systems, with depth in at least several of: caching systems, object storage, message queues, or data streaming
- 5+ years in engineering leadership, managing teams through ambiguity to deliver critical, production-scale systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
