Principal Software Engineer

Join Motorola Solutions' Video Division as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across cloud and on-premise platforms, leveraging your expertise in C++ and C#. You will be responsible for architecting high-performance, large-scale applications and APIs that support machine learning pipelines and intelligent workflows. Responsibilities

• Drive technical leadership and architectural governance across the Video Division, translating complex business objectives into scalable system architectures.
• Champion modern engineering practices, integrating DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation to rapidly deploy and iterate on complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, test automation, Observability, and DevOps

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related

• Experience using an AI first approach to software development
• Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture, microservices, and high-throughput real-time data/media streaming protocols
• Experience working in a large code base
• 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• Extensive experience in C++
• Experience working with databases (Berkeley, Postgres)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• 10+ years of software development experience
• Successful delivery of a large-scale public-facing application
• Experience developing applications in one of C++, Rust, C# and .NET
• Experience developing cloud applications in Azure
