Senior Software Engineer (Collision Avoidance)

Join Nuro, a robotics company focused on revolutionizing local commerce. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to our Parallel Autonomy System and Collision Detection System, ensuring the safety of our passengers and other road participants. You will work on a variety of challenges, including ML-based perception, object velocity and acceleration estimation, onboard latency optimization, and large-scale data curation. You will collaborate with a tight-knit group of engineers and participate in the design and implementation of a system that spans perception, planning, and control.

Experience deploying software in robotics products

Responsibilities

• Work on machine learning-based perception across all sensor modalities, estimating object velocity and acceleration.
• Participate in the design of the validation methodology to ensure high recall and precision on rare events.
• Willingness to sweat the details and strive for precision in your work
• Deploying ML models in edge environments

Requirements

• Strong coding skills in C++
• Developing state estimation algorithms for tracking applications

Preferred

Additional preferred experience

• BS in relevant engineering fields, such as CS, EE, or applied mathematics
• Optimizing architectures to explore the accuracy vs. compute tradeoff
