Software Engineer (Software Updates)

Nuro, a leading autonomous vehicle company, as a Software Engineer focused on software updates and release infrastructure. You will work on critical systems for network connectivity, telemetry, and software updates, contributing to the advancement and scale-up of our AV vision.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software for mission-critical systems, managing project priorities and deadlines, writing high-quality code, tracking and improving system performance, developing test and validation programs, and improving documentation.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software for mission-critical systems like release infrastructure, vehicle connectivity, and OTA updates.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, internally and cross-team, while tracking and improving performance of the release system.
• Write well-designed, testable code that aligns with code quality standards, and develop test and validation programs to ensure the robustness of system architecture and data flows.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and Bash scripting
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for large-scale distributed systems

Strong proficiency in Go or C++

• 2+ years of industry experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Ability to turn high-level requirements into a detailed, cohesive system design
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
• Python programming experience
• Prior experience with OTA updates and execution frameworks like Temporal

Preferred

• Experience with networking, cellular connectivity, data transfer, or related topics
