Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Join Shield AI as a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in deploying our Hivemind software in real-world environments. You'll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, provide technical expertise and support during deployment, and ensure successful integration of Hivemind. You'll also collaborate with internal engineering teams to develop and test new autonomy capabilities. This role requires approximately 30% travel for on-site customer support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure successful integration of Hivemind software.
• Deploy with customers on site to support software integration and development activities, and provide technical support and training.
• Assist the sales team in pre-sales activities, and collaborate with the product engineering team to address customer feedback.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in writing modern C++ code
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 3+ years of industry experience

Strong technical background in software engineering

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 5+ years of industry experience or
• Experience in the defense, aviation, autonomy, or robotics industry
• Experience operating in a fast-paced, startup-like, environment
• Prior experience as a customer-facing solutions engineer, application engineer, or sales engineer

Preferred

• Advanced technical degree, especially in robotics or autonomy related fields
