Kirloskar Oil Engines

Skills

Required

  • Light to Medium capacity gensets
  • kW
  • three-phase distinct design rules
  • inrush current handling

Preferred

  • control systems
  • design and integration of
  • Auto Mains
  • Failure AMF
  • panels
  • Automatic Transfer Switches ATS

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end electrical design and product lifecycle for the complete 2.4 kW to 250 kVA generator portfolio.
  • Manage the distinct engineering requirements of the range: optimizing wiring harnesses and compact alternators for small air-cooled units (2.4 kW – 15 kVA), while engineering complex control systems and heavy-duty alternators for liquid-cooled industrial units (up to 250 kVA).
  • Oversee the design and integration of Auto Mains Failure (AMF) panels, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and base-level synchronizing panels for the upper-capacity range (100–250 kVA).
  • Direct value engineering initiatives for high-volume consumer/light-commercial segments to reduce electrical component costs without compromising safety or reliability.
  • Bridge electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure flawless integration of alternators, wiring routing, and sensors with both small-block and medium-block engines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in the power generation industry, specifically dealing with Light to Medium capacity gensets, with at least 3-4 years in a managerial role.
  • Deep understanding of the specific operational profiles across the 2.4 kW to 250 kVA range (e.g., varying power factors, single-phase vs. three-phase distinct design rules, inrush current handling).
