Senior Bridge Engineer, P.E.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural calculations, drawings, and alternative solutions supported by technical analysis.
• Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with VDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and field problem solving.
• Train and inspire junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposals and project pursuits.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering with structures focus.
• Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Lead & Design

Manage and deliver structural designs for bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures across Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects.

Drive Innovation

Leverage new technologies, methods, and sustainable practices to enhance design and delivery.

What You'll Need

• P.E. license currently active in Virginia, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity or comity.
• 8 to 15 years of experience in public sector transportation bridge work and other transportation-related structure designs.
• MicroStation experience preferred.
• Experience working on VDOT projects preferred.
• Understanding of VDOT standards and design criteria is preferred.
• Expertise in bridge and structure designs and software such as MDX, Descus, Staad-Pro, LARSA, and Conspan.

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
