Job Description: Deputy Manager – Electrical Drafting

Job Purpose

To independently manage electrical drafting and drawing deliverables for Solar PV, BESS, Wind, Substation and other renewable-energy projects, ensuring accuracy, timely issuance, drawing control and effective coordination with engineering, project and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, equipment layouts, cable schedules and schematics.
• Develop detailed cable routing, cable trench/tray, earthing, lightning protection, conduit and lighting layouts.
• Prepare layouts for substations, switchyards, solar plants, inverter/control rooms, ICR/MCR and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Prepare/review panel, control and electrical system drawings and incorporate engineering comments.
• Independently manage drawing preparation, checking, revisions and as-built documentation.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate approved changes into project drawings.
• Coordinate electrical drawings with civil, structural, mechanical and project/site engineering teams.
• Ensure proper drawing numbering, document control, revision management and drawing registers.
• Support site execution teams in resolving drawing-related queries and incorporating site modifications into as-built drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable IEC/IS standards, project specifications and engineering requirements.
• Guide junior draftsmen/designers and check drawing quality before submission.
• Coordinate with engineering leads to ensure timely release of drawings in line with project schedules.
• The core technical deliverables above align with your earlier internal Electrical Draftsman requirements.

Qualification

• Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp/3D modelling would be advantageous.
