A bit about this role: We’re looking for a deeply technical and highly motivated Senior Manager of Security Operations to join our growing Cybersecurity team. This leadership role will be equally focused on building a high-performing team and maturing the detection and response engineering capabilities we use to secure our healthcare practice. Ideal candidates are hands-on leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments, have deep familiarity with modern cloud-based technology stacks, and see risk as something to manage pragmatically while enabling the business.

About Devoted

Founded in 2017, Devoted Health is on a mission to dramatically improve the health and well-being of older Americans by caring for everyone like they are family, and that includes our employees.

Our robust and seamlessly integrated care platform merges advanced data and AI access with world-class clinical and service experiences to create a member experience that is unlike the industry norm.

To continue building upon our mission, we want to bring together those who share our values, embrace change and advancement, and are enthusiastic about where we're going — all the while bringing their own unique qualities, experiences, and expertise, in hopes of further changing the healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of security operations engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the implementation, operation, and enhancement of security tools, including EDR, SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability scanners, email security platforms, and other relevant defenses across the organization.
  • Oversee incident response for significant security events, coordinating cross-functional efforts to contain, eradicate, and recover from threats, and communicating status and impact to executive leadership.
  • Drive the maturity of detection and response programs by defining metrics and KPIs, refining processes and playbooks, and ensuring timely, effective handling of security alerts.
  • Heavily leverage both agentic AI and deterministic automation to scale the team’s impact and reduce response times to identified threats.
  • Partner closely with engineering and IT to embed security best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in security operations, including 3+ years leading technical security teams in a highly regulated industry.
  • Proven track record of building and maturing security operations programs, including incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong technical foundation in industry-standard security tools such as secure email gateways, SIEM, EDR, SOAR, CSPM, and vulnerability scanners, along with a working understanding of automation in Python, Go, or related languages.
  • Experience leading response to high-severity security incidents and managing communication with executives, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to articulate security and risk concepts effectively to both highly technical audiences and senior business leaders.

Preferred

  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant security and control frameworks, such as HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, and GDPR.
  • Experience working with artificial intelligence and LLMs to augment and enhance security operations.
