ProSync is seeking a Software Configuration Management & Release Engineer to join the team and lead software configuration management, release control, software packaging, version control, and artifact repository management activities across multiple development and deployment environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring software releases are properly controlled, versioned, packaged, documented, reproducible, and traceable throughout the software development lifecycle. This role requires expertise in release and repository management, software packaging, and configuration control processes supporting complex mission and enterprise environments.

Candidates with experience managing RPM packages, Helm charts, and container images, as well as repository platforms such as Sonatype Nexus, Harbor, and ContainerYard, are highly desired.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Lead software configuration management and release engineering activities across multiple development, test, and production environments.
  • Establish and maintain configuration management processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage software baselines, version control, release branches, and release documentation.
  • Coordinate, package, and distribute software releases while ensuring accuracy, traceability, and reproducibility.
  • Develop and maintain software packaging solutions, including RPM packages, Helm charts, and container images.
  • Administer and manage artifact repositories and container registries.
  • Ensure proper versioning, auditing, and tracking of software assets throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and deployment teams to support release planning and execution.
  • Support configuration audits and maintain compliance with organizational and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot release, build, packaging, and repository-related issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, release notes, and configuration records.

## Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience (OR) in lieu of a degree, a total of eighteen (18) or more years of software engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience with software configuration management and release engineering practices.
  • Experience with software version control, branching strategies, and release management processes.
  • Experience creating and managing RPM packages.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Helm charts.
  • Experience managing container images and container-based software distributions.
  • Experience administering and supporting artifact repositories and container registries, including: Sonatype Nexus, Harbor, and/or ContainerYard.
  • Strong understanding of software lifecycle management, configuration control, and release governance.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining software baselines and release records.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph is required.
