What you will do Develop and execute strategies that grow CDW Security’s public-sector business, primarily across state and local government in the Southeast / East Coast South. Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CISOs, associate CIOs, and other senior public-sector technology and security leaders.
Serve as the sales-oriented opportunity leader by identifying, qualifying, developing, and managing security opportunities from discovery through close. Explain and position CDW’s broader security solution stack at an executive level rather than focusing on a single vendor or product.
Partner closely with sales leadership, account teams, Solution Architects, delivery teams, and OEM vendors to shape integrated security solutions. Navigate longer public-sector procurement cycles and align opportunity strategy to state and local government buying practices. Engage security vendors, coordinate customer and partner events, and use industry relationships to generate and advance opportunities.
Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast information and communicate progress, risk, and next steps. Position capabilities across identity and access management, security program development, privacy, risk and compliance, threat and vulnerability management, cloud security, secure infrastructure, and other security domains.
Travel within the region as needed for customer, vendor, and event activity; exact travel expectations will be confirmed during the hiring process. What we expect of you Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience. Senior-level experience across multiple security domains, with the ability to discuss a broad security portfolio with executive customers.
Demonstrated credibility with CIO- and CISO-level stakeholders and strong executive communication skills. Sales-focused approach with experience partnering with sales leadership, vendors, and cross-functional pursuit teams. Understanding of public-sector business practices, procurement cycles, and the operating pace of state and local government.
State government experience and established public-sector relationships are strongly preferred; higher education, law enforcement, other state/local, or federal experience is also relevant. Existing relationships with major security vendors and a strong public-sector network are preferred.
Ability to operate as an individual contributor after senior leadership experience and personally drive customer and partner engagement. Broad security knowledge across areas such as identity, endpoint, risk, compliance, cloud, and secure infrastructure. Ability to travel within the region as needed; exact travel expectations will be confirmed during the hiring process.
