Job Title : Manager, Integration Engineering Reporting To: Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering Work Schedule: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY Moog Corporate IT team is looking for the Manager of Integration Engineering - this role is a working People Leader — a player-coach who carries hands-on technical responsibility alongside direct people management.
They will run the day-to-day of this team, set technical direction, coordinate priorities across platforms, and serve as the team's primary point of contact to the operating group and Corp IT stakeholders, while remaining an active technical contributor and escalation point.
The role is expected to build the team's operating rhythm largely from scratch: a shared integration catalog, a consistent intake and prioritization process, and clear stakeholder relationships across the operating groups the team supports. Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite, or willing to relocate. A remote work schedule is not possible for this position.
To be considered for the Integration Engineering Manager role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 6+ years of hands-on integration development experience: iPaaS, eQ, Azure Data Factory (or comparable app-to-app/ETL tooling), and IBM MQ Series (or comparable enterprise messaging). 3+ years of leading highly technical engineering teams, including third-party staff augmentation and federated delivery models.
Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring other developers, whether in a formal management role or as a senior technical lead. Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, set priorities, and communicate status and risk in non-technical terms. Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed, asynchronous, and batch integration patterns.
Comfortable operating with limited documentation and building process and structure where none exists today. We would also prefer the Integration Engineering Manager to have the following skills and experience: Familiarity with ERP/MES/PLM-adjacent integration patterns (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter, etc.) and the operational constraints of tying integrations to production manufacturing systems.
Experience building or maintaining an integration catalog, service inventory, or similar system-of-record for technical assets. Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD tooling (Azure DevOps, Github, GitLab, Jenkins) as used for integration deployment pipelines.
As the Integration Engineering Manager, you will: Provide technical leadership across the team's integration platforms, including design review, code/config review, and troubleshooting escalations the individual developers can't resolve alone.
Help build, implement, and continuously improve enterprise integration patterns and standards, ensuring observability, telemetry, logging, and monitoring practices are embedded into integration solutions by design. Own and maintain a complete, current inventory of integrations the team has built and supports - what each does, its business criticality, and who owns it - closing any known gaps in today's catalog.
Establish and run a consistent intake and prioritization process across platforms, replacing ad hoc, stakeholder-by-stakeholder prioritization with a shared backlog and a transparent way of deciding what's next. Serve as the team's primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders - leaders, application owners, and other IT teams - for both planned work and production support.
Identify and remediate single-point-of-failure risk across the team by cross-training developers, documenting runbooks, and ensuring no critical integration depends on one person. Manage day-to-day workload and priorities for the developers; provide coaching, technical mentorship, and performance feedback.
Partner with the Integration Architect on integration platform strategy, modernization roadmap, redesigning, and tooling decisions. Ensure integration work complies with Moog's aerospace and defense regulatory environment, including CMMC, ITAR, and applicable data handling and cybersecurity requirements.
Represent the integration team in program-level planning, providing realistic estimates and flagging roadblocks early. Own vendor relationships, contract renewals, and license/capacity management across the team's integration platforms, evaluating tooling decisions on total cost of ownership as well as technical fit.
Establish consistent SDLC practices across platforms - version control, code review, testing, environment parity, and a formal change management process for production changes -appropriate to a regulated aerospace and defense environment.
Define SLAs/SLOs by business criticality, run an incident response and escalation process, and implement observability and alerting so issues are caught proactively; report on integration health and SLA performance to stakeholders on a regular cadence.
