Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Technology & Engineering | Type: Permanent
Lead transformative architecture to redefine the future of financial services.
The Role
At Capco, you will play a pivotal role in delivering some of our clients’ most complex and high-profile transformation programmes, drawing on your expertise in enterprise and solution architecture.
You will move between hands-on solution design, collaborating closely with engineers, and articulating compelling enterprise visions to senior stakeholders. Your work will influence key technology decisions and business outcomes, leveraging approved AI-enabled tools and workflows where appropriate to enhance architectural insight, design quality and delivery efficiency.
You will oversee architecture across business, data, application and technology domains, guide cross-functional teams and support the development of colleagues. You will also contribute to the growth of our Technology & Engineering Practice through community leadership, delivery excellence and business development, while championing responsible AI adoption, appropriate governance and human oversight in architecture decisions.
What You’ll Do
Shape enterprise technology strategies, architecture roadmaps and governance frameworks that align technology investments with business priorities.
Design complex, scalable and resilient solutions across legacy and cloud environments, applying modern distributed architecture patterns and engineering principles.
Lead cross-functional architecture and engineering teams, promoting collaboration, delivery excellence, continuous learning and the development of colleagues.
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, communicate enterprise architecture visions and influence strategic decisions while contributing to business development and commercial opportunities.
Explore and apply approved AI tools, automation and AI-enabled workflows to improve architecture analysis, design documentation and delivery efficiency, maintaining human review, appropriate governance and clear escalation pathways.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience leading enterprise architecture initiatives, shaping technology strategies, roadmaps and governance across complex organisations.
Strong solution architecture expertise across legacy and cloud environments, including at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure).
Experience applying modern distributed architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven, containerised, serverless and zero-trust architectures.
Ability to build trusted senior stakeholder relationships, guide cross-functional technical teams and deliver through agile and DevOps practices, supported by recognised architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, Domain-driven Design or NIST.
Curiosity about AI-enabled ways of working, with an understanding of how approved AI tools can support architecture activities while preserving professional judgement, security, responsible AI principles and appropriate human oversight.
Bonus Points For
Senior-level consulting experience, ideally within financial services or other regulated industries with complex compliance, risk and security requirements.
Experience leading pre-sales activities, proposals or bids, including commercial ownership and client engagement.
Experience designing greenfield architectures, cloud-first enterprises or establishing and maturing enterprise architecture functions within agile delivery environments.
Awareness of emerging AI capabilities, including Generative AI and Agentic AI, and their potential application to enterprise architecture, engineering productivity and responsible technology transformation.
Relevant professional certifications in architecture frameworks, cloud technologies or related disciplines, such as TOGAF or cloud provider certifications.
