Load, unload, and secure equipment.

Haul equipment and supplies on local or longer-distance routes, as assigned. Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication, professional presentation, quality equipment, and safe equipment demonstrations at point of delivery. Maintain compliant hours of service log daily. Perform daily commercial vehicle inspection ensuring the truck and/ or trailer is saft for operation.

Comply with Sunbelt Rentals’ internal transportation safety & compliance policies and procedures. Operate commercial vehicles in compliance with local, State/Provincial, Federal regulations. Maintain working knowledge of the tools and equipment in the assigned location fleet. Demonstrate safe driving behavior, maintain an acceptable driving record under company standards, and use defensive driving techniques.

Use mobile applications, electronic logs, inspection forms, GPS, and routing technology required to perform job duties. Perform other duties assigned by the manager or authorized personnel DEFINITION OF VEHICLES ALLOWED FOR OPERATION IN ROLE This role requires the commercial license class and endorsements that authorize operation of tractor-trailers in the state or province of operation.

The role may operate Sunbelt Rentals vehicles up to and including tractor-trailers, subject to applicable license, endorsement, vehicle, route, and company authorization requirements. QUALIFICATIONS 2 years’ experience preferred; with verifiable over-the-road experience operating a combination of commercial vehicles. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous trailer or towing experience required.

Must have and maintain the commercial driver license class and endorsements required for tractor-trailer operation in the state or province of operation, an acceptable driving record, and authorized-driver status under Sunbelt Rentals Transportation Safety requirements. Must meet any medical, licensing, endorsement, and driver qualification requirements applicable to the assigned vehicle and jurisdiction.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the language or languages required to perform the duties of the position and comply with applicable requirements. Working knowledge of applicable motor-carrier safety requirements and DOT/MOT, provincial, territorial, or other transportation guidelines relevant to the jurisdiction.

Knowledge of local roadways and ability to use provided maps, GPS, and directions for efficient delivery routing. Prior training or experience with similar commercial vehicles or equipment preferred. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, or members of the business community. Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to define problems, collect relevant information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment when required, comply with load-securement requirements and complete each essential duty satisfactorily. Sufficient mechanical aptitude to identify and report vehicle or equipment concerns and perform minor troubleshooting or adjustments when authorized.

RELATED EXPERIENCE Long-Haul Driver, Heavy-Haul Driver, Lowboy Driver, Equipment Driver, Equipment Operator, Owner-Operator, or Delivery Driver. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & GENERAL DISCLAIMER The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 lbs/23 kgs or more, and working indoors or outdoors when required by the job.

Base Pay Range: $27.07 - 40.59 Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
