We are seeking a System Administrator to run IT at inVision in Almaty. The role makes sure hardware, accounts, access, the network and corporate services work smoothly for employees, students and teachers, develops inVision’s own IT infrastructure, and builds IT operations around tickets, clear processes and documentation, automating routine work wherever possible, including with AI.

Responsibilities

  • Support employees, students and teachers with hardware, accounts, access and services, both in the office and remotely.
  • Run the helpdesk: triage tickets, set priorities and meet response times.
  • Maintain the knowledge base with guides and answers to frequently asked questions.
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding: grant and revoke access, equipment and building passes.
  • Administer corporate services: Google Workspace, Slack, Jira and the password manager.
  • Maintain the network, Wi-Fi, printers and office equipment.
  • Manage domains and corporate email.
  • Oversee information security: 2FA, password policies, access reviews and backups.
  • Purchase hardware according to the standard, receive it and keep an up-to-date inventory.
  • Set up devices and manage them via MDM.
  • Process payments for IT services on time and track subscriptions and licenses.
  • Work with contractors and vendors: contracts, access and deadline tracking.
  • Develop inVision’s own IT infrastructure and migrate employees, services and data to it.
  • Automate routine tasks with scripts, Jira automations and AI tools.
  • Help colleagues get comfortable with digital tools and document all work done.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in IT or relevant courses; Google Workspace, Jamf or Atlassian certifications are an advantage
  • Experience: 2+ years in system administration or IT support; experience independently running IT at a company of 10+ people as the sole or lead IT specialist; migration experience (Google Workspace, Slack, email, domains) is a big plus; ability to coordinate contractors and vendors
  • Google Workspace administration: OUs, groups, policies, 2FA macOS and Windows setup and maintenance
  • Slack and Jira Service Management: queues, forms, automations
  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi, troubleshooting
  • Domains and email: DNS records, SPF, DKIM, DMARC
  • Account and access management, password manager
  • Information security fundamentals and backups
  • Hardware inventory, documentation and knowledge base maintenance
  • Russian and English (B1 or higher)
  • Desire to help people: explains things in plain language, without condescension, and follows through until things actually work

Responsibility and delivering results

  • Proactivity: spots problems and risks (payments, domains, licenses, purchases) before anyone asks
  • Systematic approach: everything is tracked in tickets, registers and documentation
  • Independence: works without daily oversight and escalates only real blockers
  • Ability to explain things clearly to non-technical people
  • Composure under pressure and willingness to learn

Preferred

  • Nice to have: MDM (Jamf or similar); scripting (GAM, Bash, Python, Apps Script); basic Linux and Docker; experience with 1C, EDO and procurement in Kazakhstan
