Senior Backend Java Developer

We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Java Developer to join an international technology project focused on scalable enterprise applications and modern microservices architectures.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Java Backend development.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Java Backend development.
• Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot and microservices architecture .
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable, secure and high-performance backend services.
• Development and integration of RESTful and GraphQL APIs , including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Experience with authentication and authorization solutions, including Keycloak, Okta, OIDC and RBAC .
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as AWS SQS and Solace .
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases .
• Experience with automated testing, Git, Code Reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with code quality and security tools, including SonarQube and Snyk .
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of React and integration with frontend applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Portuguese and English C1 — mandatory.
• Candidates must currently reside in Portugal.

Preferred

• Competencies Experience in e-commerce, digital commerce platforms or complex enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud architectures and Kubernetes.
• Experience with performance optimization, scalability and application security.
• Experience defining architectural standards and participating in technical design decisions.
• Previous experience mentoring developers and conducting technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Experience producing Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical documentation and runbooks.
• Experience working with international teams and stakeholders.
• Regime Hybrid – Lisbon, Portugal 3 days on-site and 2 days remote per week.
• Candidates must reside in Portugal.

Pay

• Monthly Gross Salary €2,800–€3,100 gross per month.
• Competitive remuneration according to experience and performance.
