Dozer Operator
Earth has to move before anything else can stand. On mining, exploration, road, and earthworks sites, the dozer sets the pad, the grade, and the pace. This role turns survey marks and production plans into stable ground—on time, to tolerance, and without putting people or equipment at risk.
Performance Objectives
- Push, cut, and spread material so pads, benches, roads, and drainage meet design grade and slope on the first pass whenever conditions allow.
- Keep assigned production moving by completing daily push, strip, and cleanup targets without creating rework for the next shift.
- Build and maintain haul roads, ramps, windrows, and working faces so trucks and support equipment can travel safely.
- Hold line and level using stakes, GPS/machine control, and supervisor direction, and stop work when marks, ground, or instructions do not match.
- Start every shift with a documented pre-start; report defects before they become downtime, and return the machine ready for the next operator.
- Work with supervisors, survey, and truck operators so material is placed where it belongs and fuel, tracks, and blade time are not wasted.
- Leave sites stable: control water, avoid undercutting, and shut down cleanly at the end of shift or in unsafe weather.
Environment & Resources
You will work on active field sites across mining, exploration, roads, earthworks, and related civil works, reporting to the site supervisor or project foreman. Equipment is company-assigned dozers with standard blades and available GPS or grade-control support. Fuel, service, and parts run through the site maintenance plan; you do not buy major repairs on your own. Shifts follow project schedules, including early starts, heat, dust, and remote ground.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven time operating dozers on earthworks, mining, roads, or similar production sites—not yard-only experience.
- Ability to read grade stakes, simple plans, and machine-control displays and hit stated tolerances.
- Current license or certification required to operate the assigned dozer class, plus a clean site-safety record.
- Habit of pre-start checks, basic track and blade care, and clear defect reporting.
- Willingness to work outdoors on rotating or extended shifts and to follow radio and spotter direction.
- Spanish or English sufficient to take instructions and report hazards; both is an advantage.
Why This Role
- Real production work—pads, roads, and extraction support—not idle standby.
- Exposure across mining, exploration, and civil earthworks on the same crew.
- Direct line to the people who set the day’s cut, so good operators see their work used immediately.
- Early-stage operation: skill and reliability are visible, and strong operators are kept on the machines that matter.
- If you can hold grade, protect the machine, and keep the push moving, apply with your machine hours, site types, and availability. We hire operators who leave the ground better than they found it.
