Principal Developer- Syncade

The Principal Developer - Syncade designs, develops, tests, and supports MES solutions using Emerson Syncade (DeltaV MES), the role translates business and manufacturing requirements into reliable, secure, and compliant system solutions, including configurations, databases, integrations, and custom applications. The role supports troubleshooting of complex technical issues, uses approved AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, and ensures all solutions meet quality, security, data integrity, and GxP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Developer-Syncade also promotes standardization, reusable solutions, and best practices across MES platforms and teams.
• Design, configure, develop, and implement MES solutions using Syncade (DeltaV MES).
• Translate business and manufacturing requirements into technical solutions while providing technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to team members.
• Develop and maintain system integrations, database objects, and custom applications.
• Perform testing, deployment, and validation activities to ensure system reliability and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve MES application issues and provide production support.
• Collaborate with business users, project teams, and vendors to deliver MES projects.
• Use approved development and AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and solution quality.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, data integrity, cybersecurity, and company standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and support materials.
• Contribute to standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle management activities Develop expertise across MES platforms, software technologies, and AI tools to effectively support and deliver solutions across multiple MES systems.
• Use AI-assisted development as the default way of coding, testing, reviewing and documenting, and validate all AI-generated output for quality, security, data integrity and GxP before release.
• Implement version control and automated build, test, and deployment practices where supported, achieving improved release quality and deployment efficiency.
• Monitor production performance, proactively identify and eliminate root causes of issues, reducing recurring incidents and improving system reliability and availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Data, Life Sciences or a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant technical, AI, cloud, integration, automation, data, validation, cyber security or engineering certifications.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on technical engineering experience in complex enterprise or operational technology environments.
• Experience in leading MES solution delivery across products, platforms and sites.
• Experience in technical review, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Experience in MES platforms, software development, database technologies, system integrations and industrial connectivity solutions within GxP-regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience in coordinating teams and vendors to deliver solutions that meet compliance and operational requirements.
• Experience in managing technical risk, ensuring data integrity and compliance, and supporting audits and inspections.
• Experience in mentoring engineers and supporting technical best practices and standardisation.

Preferred

• Experience in problem-solving, technical leadership and communication.
• Experience in developing solution designs, managing technical documentation and supporting compliant system delivery.
• Experience in integrations, data management, security, quality and change control processes.
