Responsibilities

• AI-generated or AI-assisted code meets established standards for security, performance, maintainability, reliability, and code quality.
• Understanding of Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing concepts.
• Understanding of session and state management for distributed applications.
• Familiarity with application performance, scalability, availability, and troubleshooting concepts.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) and UML.
• Ability to develop well-structured, maintainable, testable, and reusable code.
• Experience participating in code reviews and following established coding standards and development best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience , with hands-on experience in PHP-based application development .
• Experience designing, developing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise web applications and services.
• Experience working with geographically distributed applications and systems.
• Experience collaborating effectively with offshore/onshore development and support teams.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and application maintenance.
• Knowledge and Skills PHP & Application Development Strong hands-on experience in PHP and object-oriented application development.
• Hands-on experience with at least one PHP framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, reusable components, and clean coding principles.
• Experience developing scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing web applications.
• Experience with PHP dependency and package management using Composer .
• Good understanding of application logging, exception handling, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, JSON, and XML .
• AI-Assisted Software Development Working knowledge and practical experience using AI-assisted development and coding tools.
• Ability to use AI tools to assist with writing, reviewing, refactoring, optimizing, and documenting code.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for debugging, analysing application errors and logs, identifying root causes, and resolving technical issues.
• Ability to leverage AI to understand and troubleshoot legacy or complex application code.
• Ability to provide appropriate prompts and technical context to obtain useful code suggestions and troubleshooting recommendations from AI tools.
• Ability to review, test, and validate AI-generated code and recommendations before implementation.
• Good understanding of the responsible and secure use of AI tools , particularly when working with proprietary source code, credentials, customer information, sensitive data, and production information.
• Experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent tools is desirable.
• APIs & Integration Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with REST API development and JSON-based integrations.
• Experience implementing API authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Good understanding of application and API security principles.
• Experience implementing appropriate security controls for transmitting and handling sensitive API payloads.
• Experience integrating applications with third-party and enterprise systems.
• Knowledge or experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation and related authentication technologies.
• Database Hands-on experience with relational database technologies, including MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with AWS RDS or similar managed relational database services is desirable.
• Good SQL development skills, including experience with stored procedures .
• Good understanding of database normalization and denormalization.
• Experience with query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning.
• Ability to design and maintain database structures based on application and business requirements.
• Web & Infrastructure Good understanding of Linux-based development and application hosting environments.
• Understanding of web/application servers and associated infrastructure concepts, including Apache, Nginx, load balancers, proxies, and reverse proxies.
• DevOps & Source Control Proficient with Git and source-code/version-control practices.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps for source control, work management, build, and/or deployment activities.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with deployment processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Engineering Practices Good understanding of client/server and n-tier application architecture.

Preferred

• Experience with frontend technologies or frameworks such as Angular / React is desirable.

• Knowledge of or hands-on experience with Vtiger CRM , including customization, module development, workflow configuration, integrations, and administration, would be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS , is desirable.
