Position Summary Red Baron Transportation is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local CDL-A Driver to support our operations in New Castle, DE. This position is primarily yard-based and involves moving trailers between the yard and dock locations, as well as occasional short shuttle runs to customer sites to retrieve preloaded trailers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with all DOT and company requirements. Key Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies. Move trailers between the yard and warehouse docks to support daily operations.

Perform short shuttle runs to customer locations as needed. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and other electronic systems as required. Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, customers, and management.

Ensure all trailers and equipment are handled safely and securely. Promptly report maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, or delays. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area. Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Red Baron Transportation professionally. Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.

Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A). Minimum of three (3) years of Class A driving experience. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Current DOT Medical Card. Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).

Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify vehicle maintenance concerns. Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules and operational needs.

High-visibility safety vest required. Additional PPE will be provided as needed in accordance with site safety requirements.

Compensation and Benefits Pay: $24.00 per hour Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days. Time Off: Paid holidays and PTO available after 90 days.
