Technical Lead, Full-Stack Engineering – AI-Native Solutions

Guidehouse

Job Family : Software Development & Support Travel Required : Up to 10% Clearance Required : None What You Will Do : Build, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable full-stack enterprise software within Guidehouse’s Chief Transformation Officer (CXO) organization, supporting AI Transformation, Solution Studio, and other strategic CXO initiatives.

This is a hands-on engineering role with technical leadership responsibilities: you will write and ship production code while guiding the technical direction of a workstream or small team. You will use AI coding assistants and agents throughout software development, with human review and verification, and incorporate generative AI capabilities where they add value.

Working closely with Technical Product Managers and architects, you will deliver reliable, maintainable applications and help other engineers grow through code reviews, pairing, and day-to-day technical guidance.

Build, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable full-stack enterprise applications; lead technical delivery of a workstream or component and deliver production-scale solutions or prototypes and MVPs as the assignment requires.

Build end-to-end applications, including usable front-end experiences, backend services and APIs, data persistence, enterprise integrations, and authentication and authorization; contribute to technical design and propose solutions to complex problems.

Use AI coding assistants and agents for implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation; review and validate generated code and outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability, and help the team adopt effective AI-assisted development practices.

Engineer for performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability; lead code reviews for your workstream and validate behavior through automated tests and representative workloads. Integrate generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, and tool calling when fit for purpose; design and run evaluations of solution quality, latency, cost, and security before scaling.

Collaborate with Technical Product Managers and architects to shape requirements, break down and estimate engineering work, and communicate technical tradeoffs, dependencies, and delivery risks. Deploy and operate cloud-native solutions using automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability; implement enterprise security, privacy, and responsible AI controls.

Monitor and troubleshoot deployed solutions; maintain technical documentation and support runbooks, and lead production readiness and handoff with IT and business owners for your workstream. Provide technical leadership for a workstream or small team: guide technical approach, unblock other engineers, and keep work aligned with design and quality standards.

Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and day-to-day technical guidance; contribute to reusable components and shared engineering practices across CXO teams. What You Will Need : Bachelor’s degree; Four (4) years additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Minimum six (6) years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated delivery of production full-stack applications, experience deploying and operating cloud-native services, and experience guiding the technical work of other engineers.

Advanced hands-on proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern front-end framework, plus Python or another backend language; strong experience with APIs, databases, authentication, and enterprise integrations.

Strong practical experience using AI coding assistants or agents, with the ability to give clear instructions, critically review generated code, validate behavior through tests and debugging, and share effective practices with others.

Minimum one (1) year of hands-on experience integrating generative AI or agent capabilities into applications, including designing and running evaluations and understanding their limitations. Experience with a major cloud platform, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code; ability to troubleshoot complex issues using logs, metrics, and traces.

Experience serving as technical lead for a workstream or small team, including leading code reviews, contributing to design decisions, and guiding other engineers.

Strong written and verbal communication skills: explain technical concepts and tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical audiences, demonstrate working solutions, ask clarifying questions, communicate progress and risks clearly, and engage professionally and credibly in stakeholder and client discussions.

Familiarity with workflows and regulatory requirements in Guidehouse industries: Healthcare; Financial Services; Communities, Energy & Infrastructure; and Defense & Security.

Experience delivering production-scale solutions with demanding performance or reliability requirements, or developing reusable components and AI-assisted delivery practices. Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering standards, communities of practice, or technical interviewing. Relevant cloud, DevOps, or AI certifications. Master’s degree in relevant technical or business discipline.

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
