Principal Cloud Engineer with Java

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native architecture . This role is critical in driving the design, development, and scalability of cloud-based platforms, with a focus on Kubernetes-driven environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in distributed system design , hands-on experience with modern DevOps and GitOps practices , and strong proficiency in at least one major cloud platform ( AWS, Azure, or GCP ).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications • Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot • Drive system design decisions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance • Architect and manage Kubernetes-based deployments across cloud environments • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and Helm • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and secure cloud solutions • Optimize application performance, cost efficiency, and operational reliability • Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in cloud architecture and development • Ensure adherence to DevOps, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code principles

Requirements

• Qualifications • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience • Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development • Proven experience in designing and building distributed systems and microservices architectures • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (mandatory) in production environments • Strong working knowledge of Helm and Argo CD (mandatory) • Deep experience in at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP • Strong understanding of cloud-native patterns, scalability, and resilience design • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong collaboration and communication skills • Proven ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment • Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes • Ability to influence technical direction and drive innovation

Preferred

• Qualifications • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments • Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) • Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.) • Experience in high-scale enterprise environments
