Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care to individuals who may otherwise face barriers to finding an available provider who accepts their insurance.
• Work alongside BetterHelp’s network of licensed therapists to provide thoughtful, evidence-based treatment.
• BetterHelp supports credentialing, payer enrollment, and platform operations so you can focus on your patients.
• You’ll provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in a convenient virtual setting including:
• Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients through telemedicine.
• Assess, screen, diagnose, and prescribe medication when clinically appropriate.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs.
• Coordinate treatment planning and care delivery with BetterHelp’s network of licensed therapists.
• Deliver empathetic, high-quality care while upholding BetterHelp’s clinical and service standards.
• Share feedback with BetterHelp’s product, engineering, and operations teams to help improve the provider and patient experience.
• All patient care is delivered remotely through BetterHelp’s telehealth platform.
• Licensed providers make all clinical decisions independently and in accordance with applicable state telehealth laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Requirements

• *, based on modeled assumptions for a 60-minute period that may include patient visits and applicable CPT codes.
• We’re looking for psychiatrists who are passionate about expanding access to mental healthcare and comfortable delivering high-quality care virtually.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have

• At least one year of experience as a licensed Psychiatrist.
• An active medical license (MD/DO) in good standing.
• Experience prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable state law.
• Confidence using technology and online tools to deliver virtual care.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
• Previous telemedicine experience.
• Active medical licenses in multiple states.
• part-time, independent contractor (1099) position, not a salaried employee role.

Pay

Estimated effective hourly earnings of

$119–$242 per hour

This is a flexible, part-time 1099 contract opportunity.

Estimates are derived from modeled assumptions regarding the number of completed visits per hour, CPT code mix, and utilization of add-on codes (such as 90833) when clinically appropriate and properly documented. Actual earnings will vary based on individual clinical decisions, case mix, scheduling availability, payer reimbursement, licensure, geographic market factors, and other applicable considerations.
