Senior Python Software Engineer

Join Cboe Europe, the largest equities exchange in Europe, as a Senior Python Software Engineer. You will work closely with business development and sales teams to develop innovative products and features, design and build reliable Python systems, and provide operational support for trading systems. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux knowledge, experience with TDD or BDD, and familiarity with data pipeline platforms and web frameworks. A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diseñar y construir sistemas Python altamente confiables y probables para respaldar las operaciones de negociación de Cboe Europe.

Requirements

Strong Linux knowledge

• Preferred: Familiarity with data pipeline platforms such as Apache Airflow
• Basic, but broad, knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Demonstrable experience with implementing an AI SDLC including practice experience with tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or similar
• Familiarity with more advanced SQL techniques
• Preferred: Familiarity with Web Frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI
• Solid Python knowledge
• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Preferred: Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Snowflake
• A commitment to writing testable, maintainable code

Preferred

• Preferred: Experience in one or more relevant financial areas (market data, order management, algorithmic trading, financial systems integration, compliance, etc.)
• Highly preferred: Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies
• Preferred: Familiarity with Java
• Preferred: Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
