Engineering Manager (Backend)

Fubo, a leading sports-first live TV streaming platform, as an Engineering Manager (Backend). In this hands-on role, you will lead a team of backend engineers, design and code alongside your team, and shape how we build software in an AI-first engineering organization. You will own the success and long-term vision of the backend services layer, prioritize work for your team, and provide hands-on technical leadership. You will also lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding in partnership with Talent Acquisition, and partner with Engineering, Product, Design, and other teams to achieve shared goals.

Lead a team of backend engineers in building product features and maintaining a reliable platform, while actively participating in design, coding, and code review.

Own the success and long-term vision of the backend services layer by designing APIs that drive the frontend user experience, and prioritizing work for your team.

Partner with Engineering, Product, Design, and other teams to achieve shared goals, and lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding in partnership with Talent Acquisition.

Requirements

• Proven experience building large-scale distributed systems with SOA or microservices architecture, preferably with Golang
• A self-driven, proactive, and curious team player with the ability to collaborate cross functionally with many different teams, with a focus on win-win solutions
• Experience with relational databases
• Strong verbal and written communication
• 8+ years experience as a software engineer and 3+ years leading medium to large software engineering teams

Preferred

• Experience in a CI/CD environment, and with test automation strategies
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
• Experience with caching, circuit-breaking, distributed traces, load testing

Pay

USD 200,000 - 250,000
