Join Talkiatry as a Senior Engineering Manager, leading our Data Engineering team responsible for our entire data platform. You'll drive technical strategy, own the Snowflake environment, and collaborate with various teams to create high-impact solutions. This role offers a flexible location, generous PTO, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Lead and develop a team of engineers working on the foundational data processing platform, driving technical strategy and execution across various systems.
Responsibilities
- Own the Snowflake environment, ensuring access and permissions, warehouse configuration, and cost management, while also being accountable for the reliability of these systems.
- Collaborate with product, business, and other engineering teams to create high-impact solutions, establishing robust engineering practices and technical standards across code review, testing, documentation, and CI/CD.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
2+ years of engineering management experience
- Experience applying CI/CD and automated testing to data pipelines
- Strong technical background with hands-on development experience with Snowflake, dbt, Python and SQL
- Comfortable running production services in a cloud environment, ideally AWS: containerized workloads and serverless functions
- 6+ years of data engineering experience
- Track record of delivering complex software projects on time
Ability to balance business needs with technical excellence
- Experience owning production data systems: orchestration tooling such as Airflow, monitoring and alerting, and incident response
- Experience administering a cloud data warehouse, not only building in one: access control, cost management, and environment and release processes
Experience working with data in a HIPAA-compliant environment
- Experience building and maintaining integrations with third-party systems and APIs
- Working knowledge of dimensional modeling and warehouse design tradeoffs
- Experience consolidating fragmented scheduling onto a single orchestration platform
Preferred
- Experience with Fivetran or similar ELT tooling
- Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure as code (our DevOps team owns most of this)
