Join Impulse as a Software Release Manager, where you will own the software release process for our spacecraft software. You will ensure that the right software is shipped to the right systems at the right time, with confidence that it works. This role is process and schedule focused but technically grounded, requiring a strong understanding of build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and test infrastructure. You will define and manage release plans, track software development progress, manage release artifacts, and improve our software development process documentation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Demonstrated proficiency in Python, C, or C++ languages

  • Demonstrated experience writing test plans and tracking the results
  • Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release versioning
  • Demonstrated experience owning software release processes for products with multiple hardware platforms and software variants
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in release management, release engineering, or a related technical program management role
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience with configuration management and software traceability

Proficiency in scripting for automation and tooling

  • Demonstrated experience implementing or managing software-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test environments
  • Demonstrated experience with C++, static analysis tools, and software build tools
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating releases across engineering, integration and test, operations, and customer-facing teams

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with the risk management framework (RMF)
