Project Financial Analyst

Trilon Group

DRMP
is seeking a
Project Financial Analyst (PFA)
to partner directly with Project Managers (PMs) and project teams. The partnership between PFAs and PMs is critical to DRMP’s financial success, and this role contributes directly to successful project delivery. Combining disciplined project accounting with forward-looking financial analysis, the PFA will improve project setup, forecast accuracy, revenue recognition, billing readiness, collections, and margin. This role will help PMs understand key financial drivers, identify risks early, and turn financial information into practical action throughout the project lifecycle.
Position is onsite in Orlando, FL.

What you will lead:

To be successful, you will need to perform the following responsibilities:
Partner with PMs to develop and maintain supported Estimates to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts based on remaining scope, staffing, labor mix, commitments, schedule, and delivery risks. PMs remain accountable for remaining scope estimates and timely forecasts; the analyst validates assumptions, challenges inconsistencies, and flags stale or unsupported forecasts
Facilitate recurring project financial reviews and analyze budget burn, percent complete, margin trends, unbilled balances, receivables, backlog, and forecast variances
Provide validated project information to FP&A and business-unit leadership while supporting consistent processes, dashboards, and PM financial training
Translate project financial reports into clear insights and actions, prepare prioritized financial review materials for Business Unit and operational leaders, and track agreed follow-up through resolution or escalation
Manage monthly revenue-recognition inputs and review project labor, expenses, subconsultant costs, commitments, and transfers for accuracy and compliance
Coordinate with PMs and Project Billers to address invoice readiness, unbilled items, collection risks, funding constraints, and potential write-offs
Identify and quantify staffing, labor-mix, utilization, and schedule risks affecting forecast project performance
Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vantagepoint, including contract structure, phases, budgets, billing terms, revenue methods, and required financial attributes
Review contracts, amendments, additional services, and extra work authorizations for financial terms, limits, milestones, and project risks

What you bring:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; equivalent project-finance experience may be considered
3 or more years of experience in project accounting, project controls, project financial management, operational finance, or professional services accounting
Working knowledge of WIP, ETC/EAC forecasting, revenue recognition, project billing, accounts receivable, project margin, and contract administration
Proficiency with Excel and project-based ERP systems; Deltek Vantagepoint and Power BI experience is preferred
Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly, ask informed questions, manage multiple priorities, and build productive partnerships with PMs
Experience in engineering, construction, survey, architecture, or another project-based professional services environment is strongly preferred
