SATCOM Technician - Ascension Island

Amentum is seeking a SATCOM Technician for Ascension Island to support the Space Force Range contract (SFRC). Key Responsibilities: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot satellite communication systems in alignment with MET training standards. Conduct routine and emergency SATCOM maintenance, including RF subsystem, antenna systems, and power distribution units.

Perform AFWET diagnostic procedures and testing on wideband SATCOM terminals and associated equipment. Monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and implement corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted communications. Maintain accurate technical records, logs, and reports in accordance with Space Force protocols. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior personnel and cross-functional teams.

Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years and proficient with DSCS/AFWET/WGS SATCOM Earth Terminal equipment and operations. Army MET certification preferred.

Familiarity with military communication protocols, encryption, and cybersecurity standards preferred. Previous deployment or assignment in austere or forward-operating locations preferred.
