Gsma

Department: Industry Services Team: Managed Services Location: Atlanta, GA with hybrid working (2-3 days in the office) Position type: Fixed-Term Contract until 23rd December 2027. Target start date 4th January 2027 About the team GSMA Industry Services provide services that help members, customers, and partners gain valuable insights, grow revenue, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. We work directly with customers across telecommunications, insurance, fintech, and government worldwide. Within Managed Services, we bring together product, commercial, and operational expertise to turn mobile device data into valuable customer solutions. Our team champions the GSMA values in both internal and external engagements. What the hiring manager says “We are looking for a commercially minded Product Manager who understands customers, identifies market opportunities, and turns our Mobile Device Data services into compelling propositions. This is an opportunity to shape our portfolio’s commercial direction—from pricing and go-to-market strategy to customer adoption, revenue growth, and profitability—while working closely with our technical and operational teams.” Hugo Saboia, Sr. Product Director About the role We are seeking a commercially driven Product Manager to lead the business performance and growth of our device information services portfolio. This is a business-facing product role focused on customer needs, go-to-market strategy, commercialization, and P&L management—not a technical product management or engineering delivery role. You will own the commercial product strategy, business cases, pricing and packaging, and go-to-market plans for key services. You will manage product-level P&L performance, including revenue, costs, margins, forecasting, and investment priorities. Through regular, direct interaction with customers and prospects, you will identify opportunities, validate value propositions, and translate market insight into profitable growth. Working closely with sales, marketing, finance, operations, and engineering, you will connect product priorities to customer demand and commercial outcomes. Our services support device traceability, regulatory compliance, fraud and theft prevention, and sustainability across the mobile ecosystem. Success in this role means building compelling propositions, winning customer adoption, expanding usage, and improving commercial performance. You should be comfortable leading customer conversations and commercial discussions, assessing market opportunities, and making trade-offs based on business value. Technical fluency is useful for collaboration, but hands-on technical expertise, backlog management, and engineering delivery are not the primary focus. Key responsibilities: Own the commercial product strategy and growth roadmap for device information services, aligning market opportunities and customer needs with business goals, GSMA policies, and regulatory requirements. Manage product-level P&L performance with finance, including revenue and cost forecasts, margin analysis, budgets, and investment business cases; recommend actions to improve profitability. Lead go-to-market strategy and commercialization for new and existing services, defining target segments, ideal customer profiles, value propositions, routes to market, and launch plans. Own pricing and packaging strategy, assessing willingness to pay, competitive positioning, cost to serve, and margin implications; partner with sales on proposals and commercial negotiations. Maintain regular, direct engagement with customers and prospects through discovery conversations, proposition validation, customer visits, and business reviews to understand buying needs and barriers to adoption. Track commercial performance, including revenue, margin, pipeline, conversion, adoption, retention, and expansion; use customer and market insights to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategy. Develop market assessments and business cases that size opportunities, define customer value and expected returns, and prioritize portfolio investments based on commercial impact. Partner with sales and marketing to deliver launch readiness, sales enablement, positioning, messaging, and demand-generation plans; review launch outcomes and refine the approach. Drive customer lifecycle growth with sales and service teams, identifying opportunities to improve onboarding, increase usage, support renewals, and expand customer relationships. About you Proven professional experience in commercial product management, product marketing, commercialization, or business management with product revenue responsibility. Experience in telecom, SaaS, data services, or regulated industries is preferred. Demonstrated experience taking products or services to market and growing adoption and revenue, with clear examples of your contribution to commercial outcomes. Experience owning or materially contributing to a product or business-line P&L, including forecasting, margin analysis, cost-to-serve assessment, and investment business cases. Practical experience developing go-to-market strategies, segmenting markets, shaping value propositions, and setting pricing and packaging. Strong customer-facing experience: comfortable leading discovery conversations, presenting propositions, supporting commercial negotiations, and building relationships with customers, prospects, and partners. Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and market data, assess opportunities, and make trade-offs that balance growth, profitability, and customer value. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate business value to customers and align sales, marketing, finance, operations, and engineering around commercial priorities. Ability to turn ambiguous customer and market needs into clear business plans, prioritize opportunities, and follow through with disciplined commercial execution. A proactive, commercially curious mindset and comfort taking ownership of business outcomes. Technical fluency is helpful, but experience focused solely on engineering delivery or backlog management is not sufficient for this role. Experience commercializing B2B data or subscription services, working with mobile ecosystem customers, or developing propositions in fraud prevention, sustainability, or the circular economy is a strong plus.
